Michele Lowry was guided to create Nikoe Natural Therapies over 19 years ago. As an animal advocate, her own animal companions opened a path for her to ‘do it differently’ and seek out alternative options for their health and wellness. She began a journey of discovery that led her to understand the untimely passing of her 7 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback Kobo, the behavioral issues of his son Nira, and the mentorship and guidance she began to receive from her horse Echoe. And so NIKOE was derived from each of their names as a way to honor the path they had opened up for Michele and one that has been healing, challenging and always expansive ever since. All of Michele’s teachings have been guided to her at the right time and the right teacher, she has remained open to this since then.
In 2001 Michele relocated from New Hampshire to Florida simply for a change of location following a divorce and loss of Kobo. What transpired was the alignment to her first pivotal teacher and guide that led her to create Nikoe Natural Therapies. Dr Julie Montgomery offered resolution to Echoe who was undiagnosed with laminitis. What followed was a place to live for us all on her farm, and a study program and subsequent mentorship with Dr Julie that encompassed energy work, polarity therapy, essential oils, flower essences, homeopathy, acupressure work and more. It was a door opening experience that began a journey of incredible and amazing opportunities that continue today. In 2003 Michele returned to New Hampshire/Maine area to share what she had learned with the Equine communities. And so Nikoe Natural Therapies began to expand and grow exponentially.
The power of Reiki Healing found Michele in 2005 when a friend suggested she take a Reiki Level I class in Wells ME. Michele dedicated 3 years to her studies with Judy Tusch RMT, she was eager to fully understand this healing modality and how to channel it and share it in healing work with people and animals. Through these studies, of course, Michele experienced much of her own personal healing. As she focused on herself, she became a clearer channel for the energy and the guidance she continues to receive today from Spirit, her horse Echoe and Guides from other Realms. In 2008 Michele was attuned to Reiki Master/Teacher. Her intensive training and experiences has given her a deeper understanding, sensitivity and appreciation for this wonderful healing therapy. Reiki was incorporated into Nikoe Natural Therapies in 2006 and has been the perfect modality to enhance each and every session.
Michele’s experiences were further deepened when in 2010 she completed a six-month Shamanic Apprenticeship and in 2011 a 10-month Shamanic Diviners Intensive with Ann Sousa, Dagara Elder. The Dagara Shamanic teachings focus on the Cosmology Wheel and how the elements of nature support balance, healing and our own inner peace. Shamanism had also shown itself unexpectedly, yet it sparked a connection deep within that led her to these studies. Michele initially focused on this opportunity as a way to support her client’s in a more profound healing experience. She soon discovered that this time was also to continue to cleanse and clear her own blocks and patterns so she could live her life fully engaged in the work for others while honoring her own journey of self development. Shamanism and Reiki blend beautifully to provide a fully guided session for people to heal on many levels of their being.
In 2017/2018 Michele had the opportunity to study in an Earth Magic Practitioner 6 month program with Dr Steven Farmer in California. These intensive program further deepened the knowledge of Shamanic practices to include Soul Retrieval, Psycho Pump, Ceremony and Ritual creation, Journeying and Drumming along with continued self healing and development as she opened space to clear herself as she learned these practices.
Michele has worked very closely with the animal kingdom for over 19 years and has experienced phenomenal healings through the connection and communication the animals share with her. Her visionary and psychic skills have continued to develop bringing a gift to tell the animal’s story through their eyes. This has proven to provide incredible changes in behavior and adjustment where trauma has previously taken place. Michele’s natural bond with the animals enables her to provide a comfortable environment for the animals to share their story.
Michele has lectured at UNH Equine Facility and UNH Animal Science Centre in Durham, NH and teaches Reiki to the faculty staff at St. Johnsbury Academy in VT. Michele’s articles have been published in The Reiki Times, Massachusetts Horse, NickerNews and New England Seacoast Holistic Health Association website and journal. Michele has been interviewed on a National Reiki Summit event and radio shows. She has taught classes and promoted her two books through signings and author events in New England, Alabama and California.
